Brown algae are an increasingly important raw material for agriculture and horticulture. They contain micronutrients and stimulators for healthy and vigorous plant growth and have been used in coastal agriculture for hundreds of years. Not only do they provide important nutrients for plants, but they also support soil-related biological processes and contribute to the soil’s properties. Substrate and soil additives can be integrated into existing crop management strategies and are suitable as substrate and soil additives that complement existing fertilization and crop production strategies. Their effectiveness has been scientifically confirmed on numerous occasions and is described in the professional literature.
Applications:
At JRS, the brown algae are gently technically dried after harvesting. Subsequently, they are crushed and fractionated to the ideal size using JRS grinding technology. This process allows an effective breakdown of the plant-strengthening substances in the brown algae. The narrow and strict specification of the JRS brown algae granules ensures that the nutrients are optimally available to the plants and that their growth is supported.

JRS brown algae granules increase tolerance to biotic stress factors, such as bacteria, fungi and pests, as well as abiotic stress factors, in particular drought stress, moisture and extreme temperatures. This is of central importance for the health and resilience of plants. Root growth is promoted, especially in young plants, which leads to more stable anchoring and better nutrient uptake. In addition, the microbiological soil life is activated, allowing the biological processes in the soil to run more efficiently. These synergistic effects not only contribute to plant resilience but also support soil-associated microorganisms, which in turn promote long-term productivity and balance in agricultural production.
Use:

The powder form of the JRS additive is very free-flowing. This enables homogeneous mixing directly into the substrate (with an amount of 0.5 to 1%) or into powdered fertilizer compounds. The addition of further additives such as the JRS Wetting Agent is possible without any problems.

Brown algae is particularly suitable for the production of dry fertilizer compounds. We recommend a dosage of less than 1%, depending on the respective formulation.
JRS brown algae is also used in the production of liquid biostimulants. Aqueous solutions can be obtained through extraction processes, which can be easily mixed with the substrate.
JRS brown algae for biostimulants are subject to strict quality and purity criteria and are suitable for organic agriculture and horticulture:

JRS brown algae granules can also be used in seed pelleting and incrustation.

Application:
Addition to dry premix of the coating compound, conventional processing in the pelleting process
