JRS Group Opens Production Facility and Center of Application Technology in China
The JRS Group has officially opened a state-of-the-art production facility for the manufacture of auxiliary materials for the pharmaceuticals industry, with a connected application center in the Chinese city of Changzhou in the Jiangsu province.
The opening ceremony took place on September 21, 2017. Among the many guests that attended, managing director of Rettenmaier Natural Fiber Manufacturing Changzhou - Johannes Beyer – welcomed representatives of local government, important sales partners, as well as the management group of the JRS Group, represented by Mr. Josef Otto Rettenmaier and Dr. Michael Hempe.
The globally active JRS Group has been represented in China with a sales office in Shanghai since 2003. The construction of the plant in Changzhou, considerably expands further production capacities for pharmaceutical auxiliary materials for the growth markets in Asia and successfully continues the growth strategy of the corporate group.
"We are very optimistic that other products from the JRS product range will also be produced in China in the future. This particularly includes products based on renewable materials for the food industry as well as products for technical applications", explains Mr. Rettenmaier in his speech.
The 98,000-ft2 property is home to a state-of-the-art production plant, a laboratory for application technology and a logistics center. The new plant, strategically located 180 km west of Shanghai in the Jiangsu province will predominantly cater to customers from the pharmaceuticals industry in China and Asia. During the planning and construction phases of the facility, energy efficiency, resource friendliness and high quality standards were of the utmost importance.
"The investment in China is a response to the increasing demand in the region of Asia. We now have the ability to optimize our global production capacities for customers in the pharmaceuticals industry and the suppliability of high quality products. With the laboratory for application technology, we can offer our customers optimum service for the deployment and use of our products. The facility is an important supplement to the existing locations for pharmaceutical auxiliary materials of the corporate group in Germany, Finland, the USA, Mexico and India", explains Dr. Michael Hempe.
With the construction of the production facility, this is the first time a foreign investor has invested in a production line for the manufacture of pharmaceutical auxiliary materials in China.
The present local representatives of government and the employees of the supervisory authorities were particularly pleased with this aspect, as the commissioning of the production line makes high-quality products produced in China available to the Chinese market.
The owner-run JRS Group is active with more than 2,500 employees at more than 50 production and sales locations. The company's headquarters are located in the German town of Rosenberg-Holzmühle.
