JRS Alginates are produced by JRS Marine Products in Landerneau and Algaia in
Lannilis near Brest in Brittany. Both sites enjoy a privileged location, in close
proximity to one of the largest natural fields of brown seaweed (Laminaria digitata
and Laminaria hyperborea) in Europe.
These locations allow for rapid processing of fresh seaweed, collected locally by
seaweed harvesters. The sites apply best-in class safety practices and stringent
quality standards, thus guaranteeing you high-quality products. EU controlled raw material sourcing. Algaia also benefits from a seaweed dedicated
R&D center located in Saint Lô, France, focused on
characterization, extraction, and applications of seaweed. In addition, it
operates a state-of-the-art pilot production facility designed for smallscale
